Sarah Palin is the future

Palin will shatter glass ceiling in November

Watch out Obama lovers! There is a new member on Team McCain and her name is Sarah Palin. She is going to break through the glass ceiling and step out on the scene as the United States of America's first ever female vice president. Hillary may take credit for the first 18,000,000 cracks or so, but Palin will be the one to shatter it once and for all. I, for one, am more than excited about this and, if my birthday weren't a few months shy of the legal voting age for the November elections, you can bet your lunch money that I would be voting for John McCain and his dynamic Republican running mate.

The things one should look for in candidates this year are simple: a team that is smart, capable, trustworthy, prepared and able to make tough decisions and who will protect our national security both at home and abroad. Most importantly we need a leadership team who will break through the partisan gridblock in Washington, D.C. and do what is right for the American people-not their political party. I believe that McCain and Palin are that leadership team.

Palin is a smart, willful, articulate and moral woman. She is exactly the type of woman who should be in the White House. She has a thoughtful world view, meaning she knows who she is and what she believes and she has a record of doing what is right regardless of political party labels. A voter can be confident that Palin will make her decisions based on what she thinks is right and will never be distracted by money or power-a major problem with most politicians today.

For example, as Governor of Alaska, Palin has members of her own party and other government officials who were corrupt or not doing their jobs well. Those actions did not make her popular with Alaskan political "insiders." When Palin first took office, she saved the people of Alaska money by cutting unnecessary spending out of the state budget. She got rid of the Governor's security force, the Governor's cook and even put the Governor's jet on eBay! Palin is clearly a new breed of candidate, who will not only "talk the talk" when on the campaign trail but one who then can be trusted to "walk the walk" in office.

It's true that Palin doesn't have experience beyond the borders of her state, but historically many of our presidents had little Washington or foreign policy experience before becoming president. One of our greatest presidents ever, Abraham Lincoln, would never have been elected if judged by the voters on his foreign policy experience. As for leadership experience, Palin has as much, if not more, leadership experience as the Democratic Party's "celebrity" presidential candidate what's-his-face, and she is only running for vice president!

Palin is also an awesome role model. She has done an excellent job as Governor of Alaska, she has the highest approval rating of any governor in our country and is also great at balancing her life. She is a leader who happens to be a mother, a loyal wife and a successful professional. Palin does not simply have one or two kids who are taken care of by a nanny, but five kids including one newborn baby with Down syndrome and her life is far from perfect like many Americans. She has a pregnant teenage daughter and faces other obstacles, however, she handles everything with grace and a smile. In my opinion, she is Superwoman and someone we should all aspire to be like. She is real and that is a rarity in politics.

It is so important for people of all ages to be educated about political candidates and their platforms, especially during this revolutionary election. Don't vote for or support a candidate without really knowing who and what you are supporting. I don't care if you aren't old enough to vote, you are the future! Soon enough, your vote will count and you should start deciding what you want in our government now. Get involved! After researching the candidates and the issues you may not agree with me and as an American that is your right. Protect your beliefs and declare yourself. Make your voice heard.

I am publicly declaring myself. I back John McCain and Sarah Palin. They are our best option, they are the future and I urge all of you voters reading this to say NObama and vote for America's Mavericks! I am a Republican and I know what I want for this country regardless of party affiliation. Do you?
